Gangnam is the “city of unflickering light”. <MEDIA ART EXHIBITION: ‘Light of Gangnam’>, an exhibit program that sublimates the unrelenting, dynamic energy of Gangnam’s creation, co-existence, and change into art, will be a new banquet of light that stimulates vivid imagination for the viewers. 
The exhibition provides a special experience of enjoying art outdoors by installing two temporary exhibit halls designed with various forms of LEDs at the Eastern Plaza at Coex. The evenings, in particular, will allow the exhibit to become more grandeur and mysterious by playing the exhibition footage on a media tower in the vicinity, maximizing the appeal of night exhibition. 
The first exhibition hall, 'Light Trail', has an LED cube placement that symbolizes the map of Gangnam district, and uses images of old photos, maps, and paintings to identify historical sites, places of life, architecture, art, fashion, and culture throughout Gangnam. All of this combined effort is to show “creation and beauty of Gangnam”. The second exhibition hall, ‘Light Space’, exhibits the “energy and imaginary world of Gangnam,” which commences a powerful challenge for the future with the concentration of light emitted from the LEDs surrounding all four sides of the pavilion. 
The exhibit will take place for 5 days from 6th Oct to 10th Oct, from 10am to 9pm at the Eastern Plaza at COEX. You can access the contents on Gangnam-gu Office Youtube channel as well.

 강남은 꺼지지 않는 “빛의 도시”이다. 끊임없이 생성·공존·변화하는 강남구의 역동적인 에너지를 전시 프로그램으로 만든 <미디어아트 특별전–강남의 빛>은 관람객들에게 다양한 상상력을 불러일으키는 새로운 빛의 향연이 될 것이다.
다양한 형상의 LED로 디자인한 2개의 가설 전시관을 코엑스 동측광장에 설치하여 미디어 전시를 야외에서 관람하는 특별한 경험을 제공한다. 특히, 저녁 시간에는 전시관 인근 미디어 타워 전광판에도 전시 영상을 송출해, 관람객들은 더욱 웅장하고 신비로운 야간 전시를 감상할 수 있다. 
첫 번째 전시관 ‘빛의 흔적(Light Trail)’은 강남구 지도를 형상화한 LED 큐브 배치와 강남 곳곳의 유적지, 삶의 터, 건축, 예술, 패션, 문화를 옛 사진과 지도, 그림 등의 이미지로 만들어낸 “강남의 생성과 아름다움”을 보여주는 전시이다.두 번째 전시관 ‘빛의 공간(Light Space)’은 전시관 사면을 둘러싼 LED에서 뿜어져 나오는 빛의 결집으로 미래를 향한 힘찬 도전을 시작하는 “강남의 에너지와 상상의 세계”를 전시로 보여준다.
10월 6일부터 10일까지 5일간, 코엑스 동측광장에서 오전 10시부터 저녁 9시까지 상설 전시되며 강남구청 유튜브를 통해서도 시청할 수 있다.
