작품 제목 “빛.그림(INTO Light)은, 빛을 그리워하는 마음으로 그린 그림이라는 의미를 담고 있다.
빛은 자연의 근원이며, 그리움을 통해 우리는 자연과 인간의 관계를 다시금 생각하게 된다.
자연이란 단어가 스스로 그러한 상태를 뜻하듯이,
그림은 그리는 것이 아니라, 그려지는 것이라는 생각이 든다.
그림은 작가로서의 의지 내지는 행위가 화폭과 만나면서 이루어지는 호흡의 결과물이다.
맑고 푸르며 투명한 하늘의 기운을 뜻하는 “천랑기청 (天朗氣淸)” 은,
빛.그림이 지향하는 의미를 담고 있다고 할 수 있다.
낙화(落花), 유수(流水), 천지(天地), 산수(山水), 풍화(風化)등
자연과 관련되는 단어들이 이번 전시를 통해 이야기하고자 하는 내용이다.
낙화는 떨어지는 꽃을 의미하며, 자연의 무상함을,
유수는 흐르는 물을 뜻하며 자연의 끊임없는 변화와 순환 구조를 상징한다.
천지란, 하늘과 땅 사이에 있는 인간의 작은 존재감을 강조한다.
이렇게 빛.그림은 자연과 인간, 그리고 그 둘 사이의 조화를 표현하는 작품이다.
자연의 아름다움과 인간의 작은 존재감을 통해 우리는 더 큰 세계를 이해하고,
그 안에서 자신의 위치를 찾아간다.
나는 이러한 자연과 인간의 관계를 빛.그림(INTO Light)을 통해 계속 탐구하고, 그려 나가려 한다.

The title INTO Light is reminiscence of light, that I was led ‘into’ light in my subconscious.
Light is the source of all nature.
Our yearning for it invites us to ponder once more on the relationship between nature and humanity.
Similar to how the words ‘natural’ or ‘one’s nature’ imply inherent qualities and the state of being uninhibited, I contend, painting is not ‘drawn’, but rather, simply comes into being.
A painting is the result of the organic intertwinement of the artist’s will or act meeting the canvas.
INTO Light aspires to convey the essence of cheonlanggicheong (天朗氣淸; refers to the clear, blue, and transparent energy of the sky)
The theme of this exhibition is nature – words such as falling flowers (落花), flowing water (流水), Heaven and Earth (天地) or weathering (風化).
Put together, these words suggest the endless change and cycle of life in nature.
We are but small, ephemeral beings in nature.
In this sense, INTO Light conveys the harmony between nature and humanity.
Through the beauty of nature and the humble presence of humanity, we come to understand a larger world and find our place in this vast universe.
Through INTO Light, I wish to continue exploring and painting the relationship between nature and humanity.
